July Favourites
Is it really August already? Where has the summer went? It feels like yesterday that I was finishing up uni for the summer. Only around 6-7 weeks until I'm back in classes. This is my first favourites post, its going to be a mixture of things - beauty favourites, music favourites, clothing favourites and a few random favourites. Its basically going to be a mash up of things I've loved over the month of July.
Beauty and skincare favourites
Because it is summer and way too hot, trying to wear a foundation has become virtually impossible. It ends up down my face by the end of the day, so basic make up has been a must.
My first favourite is the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette. I've had Naked 2 for about 6 months and absolutely fell in love with it, so of course when I came across a deal on the internet I just had to treat myself and I'd been working loads of overtime and felt I deserved it haha! The colours in the palette are so nice and summery. There is a mixture of mattes, shimmers and glitters which is perfect - it makes it really easy to transform a day look into an evening one. Compared to the Naked 2, the Naked 3 has a lot more pink shades, which for someone with blue eyes - I feel it really makes my eyes stand out even in the most basic of shades. My favourite shades from the palette are Trick and Mugshot. Trick is a pinky-copper shimmer and Mugshot is a slightly shimmery taupe. Both colours just bring something a bit more to basic eyes...
My second favourite is Tanya Burr's lipgloss in Afternoon Tea. I am in love with it. I got it a couple months back and I've actually bought another one since in the shade Heart Skipped a Beat. Afternoon Tea is a pinky nude shade, which is perfect for a summery minimal effort kind of look. I loved everything about it, its very pigmented, its long lasting, its super glossy and it smells amazing! I've got my eyes on a few more of the shades haha. I've found that it just goes with any make up look I'm going for and it instantly completes my look. I'm a big fan of lipsticks and I rarely wear lipgloss but I'd definitely recommend this to anyone.
My one of my final beauty favourites is the Soap & Glory Sugar Crush body wash. I've been a massive fan of Soap & Glory for a number of years and recently they've released new scents. I think this is one of my favourites ever...I can't even describe the smell to you. It's just amazing. Again, it is perfect for the summer months. One of my favourite things about this is that the smell will continue to stay throughout the day. It is lovely. I love it. My final beauty favourite is the Clarins Instant Eye Make-up Remover. Okay, this stuff is quite pricey but it is so worth it. I tend to wear quite heavy eye make-up and recently my eyes were becoming quite red and sore with rubbing my eyes to get it off. This stuff is a miracle, you just pop some on a cotton pad and wipe your eyes. It really is that simple.
Clothing Favourite
(This is from my Berlin photos - I couldn't get any better photos)
One of my clothing favourites this month are my black strappy sandals from River Island. I had been looking for something a bit more dressy than my converse - but something that would go with everything and of course was still extremely comfy. I'm also a bit fussy when it comes to flip flops and stuff but these are perfect. They go with every outfit and just make it look a bit more dressy than it would of been in the first place. I've worn them with a mixture of things - jeans, skirts, dresses - but I was also really surprised at how cute they looked with tights as well. Overall, they were such a good buy and definitely a staple piece for a summer wardrobe. This is them linked here!
Music Favourite
My favourite album I've been listening to this month is "X" by Ed Sheeran. I absolutely loved his first album and I know all the words, so when I found our his second album was being released I was very excited and honestly it did not disappoint. There is a mixture of slow and faster songs and in my opinion it's the perfect album to have on while you're in the garden soaking up the sun.
A few of my random favourites this month are just some silly things that I've really been enjoying. The first thing has to be Kettle Chips - the chilli and sour cream ones. No other crisps are getting rid of my craving for them. Also, the orange refreshas from Starbucks are amazing. I know I'm a bit late to the party but I had my first one the other day and I'm dying on my next one. Finally the new season of CSI has started so I've been watching that and absolutely loving it. I'm a bit obsessed with crime things...hehe!
